Why Should You make Your Own Toothpaste?

Your mouth contains over 700 different microbes. Every time you swallow, some of those microbes make their way to your stomach and gut. The oral microbiome contains dense communities of microbes called biofilms. According to some research, the bacteria that make up the majority of the microbes in biofilms are also associated with chronic illnesses. When these bacteria in your mouth reach your gut, they can cause an imbalance of the microbiome in your gut and this imbalance can lead to small intestine bacterial overgrowth, a condition called SIBO, which can create weakening of the tight junctions between the endothelial cells lining your gut. This condition is called a ‘leaky gut’, which allows pathogens to enter your bloodstream and the rest of your body. Once this happens, your immune system becomes activated to fight foreign invaders. A hyperactive immune system can dramatically increase inflammation in the body. Many of us are aware of the danger of fluoride, when ingested, fluoride passes both the blood-brain barrier, which is designed to protect the brain and nervous system from the damage of foreign invaders, and can pass through the placenta into the body of an unborn baby. Fluoride can bio-accumulate in the body, which means not all of it is metabolized and/or excreted by the body. About 50 percent of the fluoride you ingest through water or other food sources is excreted by the urine, while the other half tends to accumulate in the calcified areas of the body, such as bones and teeth, and your pineal gland, which is the temple of the wisdom and an important organ for your sleep cycles and anti-aging properties. Dental fluorosis has continued to rise according to CDC statistics. The average American will consume 14 pounds of toothpaste over a lifetime - imagine the impact of harmful chemicals from conventional toothpaste on our health.

If you have been using fluoride-free toothpaste, you may be not aware of artificial flavors, colors, and toxic preservatives in your toothpaste. This is why you should consider making your own toothpaste, they are safe, effective, and cheap. Here are a few DIY homemade toothpaste recipes.

Your toothbrushes also matter. You can opt-in for toothbrushes, such as Miswak stick and boar bristle brush.

Recipe One
Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. of baking soda (Mild abrasive, Red Mill Brand)
  • 1 Tbsp. sea salt, finely ground (Antibacterial, whitening effects)
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil or thieves based on your preferences
  • A few drops of liquid stevia
  • Coconut oil (The amount is based on the consistency you desire)
  • 1/2 tsp. of dried sage (Optional; sage is antimicrobial)
Instructions
  • Mix all ingredients except the coconut oil to taste.
  • Mix in a teaspoon of coconut oil at a time until you find the right consistency for your paste.
  • Put into a small, sealable glass jar or squeezable container and keep in a cool place.
  • It can last about 3 weeks.

Recipe Two
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp. of Virgin coconut oil
  • 2 Tbps. of baking soda (Red Mill Brand)
  • 2 Tbsp. of calcium magnesium powder (Optional)
  • 2 Tbps. of stevia powder (Optional)
  • 2 tsp. of Himalayan sea salt (Optional)
  • 5 -10 drops of essential oil (Such as thieves, peppermint, etc)
  • 5 – 10 drops of trace minerals (Colloidal Silver)

When you brush your teeth with your homemade toothpaste, you should spit it into a garbage bin not in your sink because it can plug the sink in a short period. This toothpaste is a great follow-up to oil pulling. Your health starts from your mouth.

By the way, I will be at the Metaphysical, Psychic and Wellness Fair on May 27th in Parksville. I will be giving a talk on the Connection of Fasica, Nervous System, and Consciousness. Once you understand who you truly are, there is no limit when it comes to healing. Here are some highlights of my presentation.

  • The physical manifestation of the human body as a measuring stick of the universe.
  • How does the consciousness anchor and channel in the body through fascia?
  • How is Sacred Geometry applied in our body as a blueprint and building block of our nervous system and cellular structure?
  • How to apply this ancient wisdom to enhance your health and well-being?

Please check my poster below for more details. Everyone is welcome, I am looking forward to seeing you there.

How to Boost Your Lymphatic Drainage

The lymphatic system is a network of vessels and organs that regulates the amount of fluid in the human body and fights against infections. It is considered a part of both the circulatory and immune systems. Your body’s lymphatic system is in charge of filtering and removing toxins from your body, all the way down to the individual cells. It’s comprised of different vessels and organs such as lymph nodes and bone marrow, all of which work together as part of your immune system.

The lymphatic system has several crucial functions for maintaining body homeostasis, including maintaining the body's fluid balance, transportation of large molecules, and immune health. The fluid balance is maintained by draining the extra fluid that remains after the exchange of blood and nutrients between the tissues and capillaries. A healthy lymphatic system helps the body get rid of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials. These toxins and waste can get stuck in the lymphatic system, cause water retention, and contribute to weight gain. In fact, many weight challenges are linked to lymphedema due to excess water along with the toxins and waste buildup in the lymphatic system, this is why lymphatic drainage is crucial for improving the efficiency of your body’s detoxification process, strengthening your immune system, and preventing weight gain.

Lymphatic drainage is a healing modality that can help your lymphatic system to remove accumulated waste more efficiently. When you improve the efficiency of your lymphatic system, you can have more energy and better circulation, it will support the detoxification process of the liver more efficiently.

Gua sha (or skin scraping) is an ancient Chinese Medicine technique that involves using a tool and essential oils to massage your neck, shoulder, and back with certain motions and pressure. Not only does this promote lymphatic drainage, but it also helps reduce pain, promote blood circulation, and rejuvenate the skin.

Here are some amazing health benefits of skin scraping:

  • Promote lymphatic drainage
  • Improve blood circulation
  • Detoxify the body more efficiently
  • Reduce lymphedema and edema and promote weight loss
  • Relieve headaches and migraines
  • Reduce stress and inflammation
  • Relieve pain and fibromyalgia symptoms

Other Ways to Improve Your Lymphatic Flow

Move your body. Regular movement promotes drainage and improves circulation.

Hydration. Dehydration can contribute to backups.

Choose whole food. The fewer processed foods in your system, the fewer toxins your lymphatic system will have to filter out.

Alternate between hot and cold water in the shower. Showering in hot water opens up your blood vessels, and cold water closes them. This keeps things moving within your body and promotes better lymphatic drainage.

Wear loose clothing. Tight clothes can put pressure on your lymph nodes especially while you sleep.

Now is the best time to detoxify your liver because the energy is peaking in the liver meridian in spring. I am offering skin scraping and cupping treatment with essential oils to help boost the lymphatic system, improve your energy levels and detoxify the body. For the treatment options, please check here.

Ear candling is an add-on service if you want to add it to your treatment plan. Ear candling can eliminate excess ear wax, helps relieve tinnitus, headaches, sinus infections, vertigo, and improve hearing.

A Key Point for Longevity

Today, I am going to share a source point for longevity. Huiyin acupoint is in the center of the root chakra. It is an important point located in the middle depression of the human anus and genitals. It is in a straight line with the Baihui acupressure point at the center of the head, which is a channel of the essence of Chi in the human body. Baihui acupoint receives the Yang energy from the sun and Huiyin acupoint collects the Yin energy from Mother Earth. These two points connect with each other and channel the universal energy through the human body. The human body is a measuring stick of the universe. As above, so as below. These two points balance the energy flow of Yin and Yang energy in the body and maintain harmony with the universal energy. They are the key points that help regulate the twelve meridians and sustain the life force.

Regular massaging of the Huiyin acupoint can help regulate the physiological and reproductive functions of the human body. It is very effective to strengthen your immunity, enhance your reproductive system and regulate elimination because it is the most effective transdermal acupoint commonly used in the human body.

The health benefits of the Huiyin acupoint include the following:

  • Helps regulate bowel movement.
  • Prevents prolapse of internal organs.
  • Relieves hemorrhoids.
  • Prevents UTI and vagina infection.
  • Strengthens the reproductive system and prevents libido.
  • Increases Yang energy and boosts immunity.
