Simple Ways to Boost Your Liver Detox Engine without Remedies

The liver is the largest and is one of the hardest-working internal organs in our body. It’s essential to our daily physiological functions meaning we can’t live without it, unlike how we can function with one kidney or exist without our gallbladder. A normal healthy adult liver weighs around 3.5 pounds and is about the size of a football. It is located in the right side of your abdomen, just below your ribs. Our liver performs more than 500 distinct functions, but possibly the most important function is how it helps cleanse our body of toxins and unnecessary byproducts of everything we eat, drink, smell, or touch. At any given time, our liver contains about 10 percent of our body’s total blood volume, and it filters 1.4 liters of blood per minute.

Our liver plays a vital role in fighting infections, particularly infections arising in the bowel. It does this by mobilizing part of our body’s defense mechanism called the macrophage system. The liver contains over half of the body’s supply of macrophages, known as Kupffer cells, which destroy any bacteria that they come into contact with. If the liver is damaged, its ability to fight infections is impaired.

The liver is our body’s detox organ, which means it has the sole responsibility of eliminating harmful toxins and hormone metabolites. Unfortunately, most Americans have a toxic load that is essentially impossible to clear without taking specific measures.

Sluggish livers are very common today, with airborne chemicals, an unhealthy diet, contaminated water, and many additional factors to blame. Reducing your toxin exposure and supporting liver detoxification with targeted approaches is imperative to avoiding disease. Signs of poor liver function are poor digestion, imbalanced hormones, weight gain, skin issues, poor sleep quality, lack of energy, etc.

In this talk, I am going to introduce a few simple ways to detoxify your liver without remedies. Everyone is welcome and I am looking forward to seeing you there. Please check my poster below for more details.
