The Magical Power of Your Hands

Do you know that your hands can be a magical tool for your health? According to the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), your hands are like a mini-universe that reflect your over health. From the reflexology, your hands are just like your feet that reflect your internal organs and spell the layout of your whole body. By stimulating the certain parts of your hands, you can give your internal organs a good massage and even get rid of some stubborn health challenges that have been bothering you for a while.

For example, the neck issues, today more and more people are suffering from the stiffness and discomfort of the neck. Why? Because we are so busy with our little cell phones and tablets all day long and forget how to live. Do you know that your poor neck has to support such a heavy head that is about 10 to 12 pounds on average all day long? No wonder many of us are experiencing the headaches and shoulder pain without knowing the victim is the neck. Did you pay attention to the messages of the pain and soreness from your neck? If you bend your head to 60 degrees, it adds almost 60 pounds to your neck; your hands even have the trouble to lift such a heavy load.

What about the stomach discomfort such as heartburn and indigestion? Your hands can come handy to relieve these stomach issues.

Your hands can do lots of tricks when it comes to the simple remedies for your health challenges. Let’s dive more into it.

Dance Away Dementia?

Imagine how it feels like to dance on the floor? It feels great and looks fabulous, isn’t it? Dance is one of my favorite exercises. For a lot of people who might struggle to find the ideal fitness routine, dance can be a perfect choice. We often consider Dancing as a recreational activity but overlook the positive physical, mental and social health benefits that it can offer.

When it comes to the aging prevention, dancing offers its unique advantages to slow down the aging process and even prevent the memory loss. A recent study from Frontiers in Aging Neuroscience linked dancing to improved “white matter” integrity in the brains in the seniors. White matter is the tissue through which messages pass between different areas of the gray matter within the central nervous system. It is the myelin that gives the white matter its color. Certain conditions have long been associated with damage to the myelin sheath. For instance, multiple sclerosis attacks myelin and causes a gradually worsening weakness that can lead to paralysis. White matter tends to break down gradually as we age, which leads to the thinking and memory issues later in life. The good news is that dancing regularly can slow down this aging process and keep your memory sharp.

Every dance is different but generally speaking, these are fun and vigorous physical activities that tend to be underrated for their fitness benefits especially when it comes to the weight loss. You can build muscles and get a good cardio workout at the same time through a great dance session.

Now it is time to dance on the floor, are you ready yet? Please check our blog to learn more.

Why Is Summer the BEST Time to Boost your Heart Function?

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, summer is the best time to take care of your heart health. This is because the energy is at its peak in your heart system during the summer according to the energy flow in the meridian systems. The first step to improve your heart function is to purify your blood; this will reduce the stress of your heart to circulate the blood in your body.

Why is it so important to purify your blood? Our blood is responsible for delivering nutrients and oxygen to every cell in the body. It also carries away metabolic wastes from the cells in the kidneys and lungs for excretion. When it gets toxic, it needs immediate cleanse to function properly. Cleansing the blood is probably one of the most important weapons for achieving optimal health especially for improving your heart function.

How to Heal the Stomach FAST!

Here are some shocking statistics: 60 to 70 million people in the United States alone suffer from some forms of digestive issues every day, such as heartburn, acid reflux, GERD (gastro esophageal reflex disorder), and stomach pain, etc.

Imagine how it feels like to have stomach discomfort such as stomach pain, gastric acid reflux (GERD), heartburn, nausea, and vomiting. Very uncomfortable, isn’t it? Well, stomach issues are usually not a quick fix. If you rely on medications to save your stomach, you may mask the symptoms and cause more damages to your stomach lining. If the stomach issues have been overlooked for a period of time, you may suffer from chronic gastritis or stomach ulcers. Gastritis is a condition that involves inflammation of the stomach lining. A stomach ulcer also referred to as a peptic ulcer, is a small hole or lesion in the mucosal lining of the stomach.

In order to reduce the inflammation in the stomach, we need to keep the culprit – H. pylori bacteria at the bay. Antibiotics are not always the best options out there because they can further damage the stomach lining and may contribute more digestive issues later on. In addition, they will also annihilate the good bacteria in your digestive tract.

Confessions of a “Can’t-Aholic”

How many “can’ts” do you have on your list?

“Can’t” sprinkles our language, often with unintended consequences as to how we approach life.

Can’t” is a place of stuckness seemingly laid upon us by some outside force.  “I can’t make peace with my sister”.  It’s like it’s beyond my ability or my power, or my intention.  It almost seems like it’s not our fault.  We have somehow arranged it so we are victims to “can’t”.  Well, it’s true, isn’t it, after all, “I just can’t”.

I bet there are plenty more can’t-aholics out there.

Have you heard “as a man thinketh, so he is”?  This one is in the Bible.
All we have to do is to just be willing to change our language, from “can’t” to “won’t”.  Stop being powerless and start being powerful.

We often beat ourselves up, when was the last time you congratulated yourself for starting something new?  Think about it, not the mundane tasks that do get done, but starting a new routine, a new thought or new action.  Even thinking about thinking about it is a great start.  It’s almost like noticing what we are noticing, and then is this what I want to notice?

Why Is Iron Deficiency NOT the Real Cause of Anemia?

Do you know that anemia has impacted millions of women globally? This condition means you have a lower than normal red blood cell (RBC). Anemia may also result from a low level of hemoglobin, which is the protein that transports oxygen to the body. Iron deficiency anemia is a common type of anemia that is due to insufficient amount of iron stored in your body, which causes the blood lack the adequate amount of healthy red blood cells. Red blood cells carry oxygen to the body's tissues; when their capacity is affected, this can lead to chronic fatigue, lack of energy, short of breath, headaches, reduced appetite and even poor sleep quality.

Research has shown that iron deficiency anemia can affect your immune system and increase your risk of infection. If anemia is not being treated promptly and becomes more severe, you may be at risk of developing complications that affect your heart or lungs, such as tachycardia (an abnormally fast heartbeat) or heart failure.
Many people who suffer from chronic anemia jump to the conclusion that lack of adequate amounts of iron storage in the body is the cause of iron deficiency anemia. This is why the iron supplements have been one of the bestselling products in the drug stores in the past few decades. However, iron pills are not the solution for the chronic anemia.
Dietary management is only part of the story when it comes to managing chronic anemia. The underlying cause of this condition is likely not what you think. If you are able to look for the solutions from a different approach, you may achieve better results. And the understanding from this content may help you get rid of anemia for the rest of your life.
