Harness the Amazing Healing Power of Your Hands Part-3

Have you ever wondered why many of us have a tendency to jump on drugs instead of natural healing remedies when we suffer from certain health challenges these days? Stop Coughing NOW with These Simple Tricks

You may wonder why people suffer from coughing more often in the fall and winter. cough is a reflex action to clear your airways of mucus and irritants. A "dry cough" can be tickly and doesn't produce any phlegm (thick mucus). A"chesty cough" means phlegm is produced to help clear your airways. Let’s go back to the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). According to TCM, the energy is peaking in the lungs in autumn. As a result, those who have a history of asthma or bronchitis may experience more coughing than others during this season.

If you jump to antibiotics too quickly, they won’t help much. Unnecessary use of an antibiotic exposes you to the risks of an allergic reaction and antibiotic resistance and side effects, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes, and yeast infections. In this content, you are going to find some simple tricks that will calm your coughs quickly and easily, which go back to the food remedies again.
According to TCM, there are a few types of coughs. One type is due to too much heat in your lungs. This type of cough usually combines with a sore throat, dry cough, constipation or even a fever.
Another type of cough is due to some chronic health conditions such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis. This type of cough has frequent flare-ups due to the weak Qi (energy) in the lungs.
The most common type of cough is triggered by a cold or flu during the cold season.

The truth is that no drugs can replace the magic of nature and the best medicine comes from nature. Let’s dive into this top food list that has tremendous healing power.

For example, Jujube dates are natural laxatives; they are also a great food choice for those who suffer from anemia due to its rich iron content. According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, People with Qi and blood deficiency are prone to constipation, and one of the reasons is that the intestinal motility is weak. Jujube date fits right into the picture, it is rich in fiber and tonify the blood, therefore, regular intake of jujube dates can help prevent constipation.

Where Are the Hidden Golden Triangles in the Body?

Do you know that there are many hidden triangles in the body that play the key factors for your stamina and immune function? If you are aware of these important areas in the body and take good care of them on a regular basis, you can certainly improve your health and boost your productivity.

Where are these hidden golden triangles in the body and why are they so important? For example, neck golden triangle refers to the area below the posterior occipital bone including the first and second cervical vertebra. It is called the golden triangle because there are many vascular nerves on both sides of this area. If you leave this area open during the cold weather in winter, you are more prone to a cold or cough because this area is very sensitive to the cold temperature. If you want to get rid of a cold, you can also take advantage of this area and rest your neck on a hot water bottle to quickly get rid of a cold or flu especially in winter. These simple self-care tips have been tested by Traditional Chinese Medicine for thousands of years.

Here is another example; the knee golden triangle is formed around the inner side of your knees. There are two tendons on the inner side of the transverse ligament; they are called the semitendinosus semimembranosus tendon. There is a bicep tendon on the outside. More importantly, there are many important acupressure points around this area to support your back and lower limbs according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Massaging this area regularly can eliminate knee swelling and joint pain from arthritis, joint sprain, and other causes.

So where are other golden triangles in the body that can perform amazing healing tasks? Please check our blog.

ADHD Doesn't Exist?

According to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention from the United States, an estimated 6.4 million children between the ages of four and seventeen have been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Some people think that ADHD may be established by conventional medicine, but the symptoms of attention-deficit and hyperactivity are real for those individuals who often seek professional treatments because it affects their daily lives.

During my pediatric counseling practice in the past many years, I have noticed that many children who were diagnosed with ADHD are actually very creative from their genetic makeups; I speculate that their creative energy may not be directed properly during the formal education from our current schooling system, which can contribute to their ADHD symptoms. It makes me wonder maybe these children should receive special education to help channel their creative energy more effectively, they can be brilliant artists or excel in other creative works that help harmonize both spheres of the brain and reduce ADHD symptoms.

There are other ways that can help calm ADHD naturally and effectively, maybe we should explore the root cause of ADHD before dumping more drugs on children to suppress the symptoms.

Harness the Magical Healing Power of the Hand Gestures

People who believe in Buddhism have noticed that the Buddha statues in the temples have a similar hand gesture. Many people may not pay attention to these details. In fact, these mysterious hand gestures have incredible healing power. Why does the specific hand gesture have a magical power? Let’s start with the hand reflection areas. There are 6 meridians in our hands according to Traditional Chinese Medicine, which communicates with the organs and tissues of the whole body. There are about 99 acupressure points in our hands; it is incredible, isn’t it? They can reflect the health status of the whole body. Believe it or not, massaging and stimulating these acupressure points can relieve most health issues in the body.

There are specific hand gestures that not only nourish your liver, but it also tonify the kidneys and strengthens the spleen and stomach meridian channels. They are the natural remedy for liver, gallbladder and kidney diseases, and also gastrointestinal and urinary system diseases.
Nervousness is usually a manifestation of weakness, distraction, and inner instability. Some hand gestures combined with conscious and slow abdominal breathing techniques can quickly reduce anxiety like a safety anchor.

Last but not the least, the energy of pituitary and endocrine glands merges at the tip of the thumb, when we stimulate these centers with the fingers, the two systems will be active. The specific hand gesture can increase memory, promote concentration, reduce insomnia, and reduce mental health-related challenges such as anger and depression.

How Can Your Emotions Make You Sick?

Our bodies respond physically to the way we think and feel because our emotional and physical health is closely linked. Negative emotions can zap our mental energy and negatively affect our body, which leads to health problems. For example, fear and anxiety can create chronic stress in our body, which affects our body's hormone balance, depletes the brain chemicals such as serotonin that is essential for happiness, and damages our immune system. In fact, chronic stress can actually shorten our lifespan.

People who suffer from headache, fatigue, weakness, or other symptoms often end up being diagnosed with depression, even though they do not report feelings of depression to their doctors. People who are chronically depressed often have physical symptoms, such as constipation, lack of appetite, insomnia or lack of energy. Depression has been shown to increase the risk for chronic illnesses, such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes.

People who are aware of their thoughts and emotions usually have the ability to channel their emotions in a healthy way. They also have a better way to cope with stress. Research has found a link between the positive mental state and improved health, including lower blood pressure, reduced risk for heart disease, healthier weight, better blood sugar levels, and longer life.

Being open to positive change is a key to emotional wellness. The good news is that with awareness and practice, anyone can master emotion management and improve their physical health accordingly.

How to Use This Wheel of Health to Boost your Health and Longevity?

For example, spring is in the flavor of the sour taste of the wood energy in the liver.  But wood can overcome the earth, which is the dynamic element governing the spleen. Spleen is influenced by sweet taste; therefore, you should eat sour foods in moderation and increase your intake of naturally sweet foods to nourish the energy in the spleen in spring.

Summer is governed by the energy of fire, which is resonated with your heart system. The energy in the heart system is abundant with fire energy, and it is influenced by the bitter flavor. When the fire is in excess, it can lead to overexcitement. To counteract this, you can eat some bitter foods such as romaine lettuce, dandelion greens, almonds, and foods with the cold nature like cucumber, sprouts, watermelon, etc. Avoid greasy foods that are difficult to digest, such as deep-fried foods.
Summer is the time to release the Yang energy and boost your heart function. Cardiovascular exercises and outdoor activities serve you well during summer because fire rules the heart system. The fire also rules the small intestine, which is intricately connected with the heart system according to TCM.
