How to Make Your Own Hair Products with DMSO?

Did you know that most commercial shampoos and conditioners are formulated with a variety of harmful chemicals? And their toxicity levels are not just limited to hair health, they can damage our health ranging from cancer to hormone imbalance. Just list a few here: parabens, Polyethylene Glycols (PEG), phthalates, formaldehyde, triclosan, dimethicone, and retinyl palmitate… They are all petroleum-based xenohormones, which cause hormone balance in our body, also link to certain cancers. I am going to talk about how to make your own hair conditioner with DMSO, first, have you heard about DMSO? DMSO stands for dimethyl sulfoxide, it is a cheap by-product derived from pine trees in the paper manufacturing industry, and it was first isolated by a Russian chemist in the 1800s.  DMSO is available as a liquid or in a gel form. It has been used as an industrial solvent, paint thinner, and additive in many other chemical products for many years. Despite such a long history since its discovery, DMSO remains unknown to many health care professionals and the public for its amazing healing abilities, especially for pain control.

DMSO can be taken orally and topically, and injection as well. It demonstrates significant anti-inflammatory properties when it comes to managing a wide range of chronic pains, such as arthritis, shoulder pain, and back pain. When DMSO is applied to the skin, it gets quickly absorbed into the tissues, and draws water out of inflamed tissues, and reduces swelling very fast. DMSO is an effective pain killer that blocks nerve conduction fibers for producing pain; it reduces inflammation and swelling by eliminating inflammatory chemicals in the body. When it comes to a sports-related injury, DMSO dissolves and removes blood from damaged tissues and speeds up the healing process for bruises, sprains, strains, and tendinitis, etc.

How does DMSO work in the body? DMSO is a bipolar molecule based on its structure; one end of the molecule is water-loving and the other end of the molecule is fat-loving. This makes DMSO a universal solvent. In water, DMSO’s polarity can alter the spaces between its own molecules, which is called conformation. The order and spacing of these molecules determine what kind of action DMSO can perform. For example, when the configuration of molecules is malleable, DMSO can interact with proteins and move through them. This malleable configuration is the reason why DMSO can travel through the skin surface easily. This is also one of the main reasons for its analgesic or pain-killing properties. DMSO in water affects nerve membranes and reduces their sensitivity, thus reducing the pain signals. This makes it a natural pain killer. DMSO is also a source of sulfur, sulfur compounds are found in all the cells in the body and they are indispensable. They play an important role in the chemical reactions during the detoxification process in the body. Sulfur in DMSO binds with toxic heavy metals and eliminates them through urination, defecation, and sweating, such as mercury, lead, aluminum, cadmium, arsenic, etc. DMSO can easily penetrate the skin and blood-brain barrier, tissues, and enter the bloodstream. It increases the delivery of oxygen and improves blood supply to the injured areas.

DMSO also has other amazing healing benefits, it boosts your immune function, increases the production of immune cells that destroys foreign chemicals and pathogens in the body. It also has anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal properties. DMSO also functions as an antioxidant to prevent free radical damage in injured tissues. DMSO is truly a magic healing ingredient from Mother Nature.

Here are some amazing health benefits of DMSO:

  • An effective pain killer that blocks nerves conducting pain signals.
  • Reduces inflammation and swelling with anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Has antimicrobial properties.
  • Increases the production of important immune cells.
  • Increases delivery of oxygen to the cells.
  • An excellent heavy metal detoxifier that binds to toxic heavy metals and eliminates them through urination and sweating.
  • A radio-protective agent that reduces the harmful mutagenic effects of x-rays and other radiations.

It is important to choose DMSO with a pharmaceutical-grade that has 99.995% purity for both internal and external use. DMSO is also safe to apply to pets and it has been FDA approved for treating joint pain, swelling, inflammation, and even scleroderma and lupus.

There are many ways to use this amazing product from Mother Nature. Here is a simple recipe to make your own hair conditioner that is natural without any preservatives. This recipe promotes hair growth, treats dandruff, and even prevents grey hair. All you need is a glass spray bottle (100ml), add 30ml 99.995% of DMSO, 30ml pure rose water, 20 mL preservative-free aloe vera gel juice, and 6 drops of your favorite essential oils, I choose pure moringa oil, it is a potent antioxidant for hair growth and nourishes the hair too. Jojoba oil moisturizes the hair, adds nutrients, and stimulates the scalp. Lavender oil deep conditions the hair and helps control dandruff. After you add all the ingredients, shake it well and use as many sprays as you need to cover your hair. Let the spray absorb fully.

DMSO can only be stored in glass or plastic containers; it will dissolve metals or other materials. If your hands are dirty or you have nail polish on your nails, DMSO will dissolve them and carry them into your deep tissues. Make sure to wash your hands before using it and clean a wound before applying DMSO. You should put it on bare skin because DMSO can dissolve the dyes from your clothes and damage the clothes. You can dilute the DMSO solution if you have sensitive skin. When you mix DMSO with water, the heat is generated due to an exothermic reaction during the dilution process, leave the mixture for about 15 minutes to return to room temperature before using it. When you apply DMSO solution on your skin, do not cover the areas where DMSO is applied; allow the skin to air dry before putting your clothes on. DMSO has strong sulfur and garlic odor. When you apply it to your skin, you may experience a garlic smell. This is normal.

What Can You Expect at the End of 2021?

The energy in December is just as intense as what we experienced in November. First, a solar eclipse in Sagittarius opened the stage, followed by a Cold Full Moon in Gemini, and ends with the winter solstice on December 21st.

Numerology significance

December is 12, which is the mirror number of 21, winter solstice also ends on 21, we see number 21 and its mirror number 12 in the year (2021), month (12), and day (21) repeatedly, which is number 3 (1+2 =3). Number 3 is all about communication, which correlates with the Gemini Full this month. The theme of December is communication. The Gemini Full moon will occur on December 18th at 11:36 pm EST, which arrives at number 9 (1+8 =9). Number 9 is associated with ending and changes, as we are approaching the end of this year, we start to see the closing scripts of this grand movie that has been staged for two years globally in terms of its intensity. So what is 2022 going to bring us? I think everyone is curious about the new script that will land next year. Let’s dive into the energy in December.

Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius

On Dec.4th, the new moon arrived in Sagittarius in the South Node, it indicates we have to let go of the old situations that don’t serve us anymore and create our new reality. Neptune opposites the new moon, it is important for us to do a reality check and analyze the situation when we create our new dreams. Neptune may cause an illusion in your reality that your dreams may be far from reach. The moon in the goal-orientated Sagittarius can help us focus on our goals and achieve success in the future. This is also a powerful total solar eclipse in the Sagittarius and Gemini axis, and it is the last eclipse for this axis and moves to Taurus and Scorpio eclipse season next year. Eclipses usually trigger rapid changes, endings, and new beginnings. This solar eclipse is in the South Node, which suggests us let go of the old paradigm and take a leap to the unknown future, this can be a challenge for many people to let go of the comfortable past and refuse to accept the changes in our reality. Once we are able to focus on our energy to the new beginning, exciting new opportunities will present themselves to us.

Simple Tricks to Stop a Cold and a Cough

No doubt that the most popular topic about health in winter is how to prevent a cold or flu. It is certainly not a pleasant experience when we catch a cold, we not only have to take some time off from the work but also suffer from headaches, fevers, coughs, a stuffing nose, and lack of energy. But there are some natural and simple solutions out there that can prevent a cold or flu in the first place, and also get you back on track quickly.

You may wonder why people suffer from coughing more often in the fall and winter. According to TCM, the energy is peaking in the lungs in autumn. As a result, those who have a history of asthma or bronchitis may experience more coughing than others during this season.

According to TCM, there are a few types of coughs. One type is due to excessive Yang energy manifested as heat in your lungs. This type of cough usually combines with a sore throat, dry cough, constipation, or even a fever. Most coughs are caused by a cold especially in winter. Another type of cough is due to some chronic health conditions such as emphysema and chronic bronchitis. This type of cough has frequent flare-ups due to the weak Qi (energy) in the lungs.

But don’t worry, I am going to introduce a few simple tricks from Traditional Chinese folk remedies that will stop a cold and calm your coughs quickly and easily. Please check my video to learn more.

Why Is Glutathione so Important to Your Health Especially Now?

Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant found in every cell in the body. It is made of three amino acids: glutamine, glycine, and cysteine (a sulfur-bearing amino acid). Glutathione is critical for the detoxification of carcinogens such as benzene (commonly found in the automotive exhaust), heavy metals such as mercury, cadmium, and lead, and common chemicals such as BPA. It is involved in many biochemical functions in the body, the benefits of glutathione include:

  • Make DNA - the building block of proteins and cells.
  • Support immune function.
  • Form sperm cells.
  • Fight against free radicals.
  • Involve in certain enzymes functions.
  • Regenerate vitamins C and E.
  • Remove toxins such as mercury and fluoride out of the brain.

Methylation mutation can affect the production of glutathione. It is a metabolic process that involves attaching small molecules called methyl groups to fragments of DNA. If your methylation cycle is interrupted, it can affect your health in many ways, including the production and recycling of glutathione, which is the master antioxidant in the body. Methylation can also affect your DNA expression, the function of neurotransmitters, and immune responses. Improving methylation is very important to everyone because it is a critical biochemical process that has a significant impact on your health. The breakdown in methylation can put you at a higher risk of osteoporosis, heart disease, diabetes, and cancers, etc. Many drugs can affect the methylation process, such as anti-acids, oral contraceptives, HCTZ, and the toxins such as pesticides, toxic heavy metals, and air pollutions.

Here are some tips to improve methylation in your body:

1. Detoxify your body regularly by eating a very clean diet. Eat more dark, leafy greens.
2. Add more food sources of Vit. B group and folate to your diet, such as nuts and seeds, leafy dark green vegetables, asparagus, lentils, and avocados. A methylated B complex that provides an active form of vitamins B2, B6, B12, and folic acid can support methylation. Be aware that animal protein, sugar, and saturated fat deplete your body’s vitamin stores.
3. Limit caffeine and alcohol intake because they can deplete your B vitamin levels.

4. Quit smoking because smoking deactivates vitamin B6.
5. Avoid medications that interfere with methylation.
6. Improve stomach acid and gut health with juicing such as celery juice and cabbage juice.

7. Consider supplements that support methylation if you are not able to get the nutrients sufficiently from food sources, such as magnesium, zinc, B12, and 5-MTHF (the activated form of folic acid).

8. Get plenty of sleep and reduce stress.

There are other ways to boost glutathione levels in your body. For example, incorporate sulfur-rich food in your diet, such as broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, artichoke, cauliflower, and kale. Sulfur is important for producing glutathione. Vitamin C plays an important role in maintaining glutathione levels. Therefore, taking vitamin C supplements may help increase glutathione levels in your body. Including foods high in glutathione is a great way to boost glutathione levels in your body, such as avocados, spinach, and okra, because dietary glutathione is not fully absorbed by the body. Turmeric helps boost glutathione production, many studies have shown that turmeric and curcumin extract have the ability to increase glutathione levels. You can also take glutathione supplements to support your health and immune function. Now it is flu season, recent studies suggested that glutathione supplementation can help relieve the respiratory symptoms of COVID-19. If you have taken the covid vaccine, which can deplete glutathione in your body, it is important to take a proactive approach to boost your glutathione levels with a proper diet and supplementation.

Why Should You Add Fennels Seeds to Your Diet Now?

Fennel is a perennial, pleasant-smelling herb with yellow flowers. It is native to the Mediterranean but is now found throughout the world. Fennel seeds are harvested from the plant's flowers and then dried. Like the fennel bulb, they have a sweet, licorice-like flavor that can add unique and sweet tastes to dishes.

Fennel seeds are packed with nutrients, including Vitamin A, E, C, B-complex, and a variety of minerals and antioxidants. They contain many minerals such as iron, zinc, copper, manganese, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. Copper stimulates red blood production and iron stimulates red blood formation. Zinc helps red blood growth and development. Potassium plays an important role in controlling blood pressure. Manganese is a powerful antioxidant that is essential for thyroxine production and proper thyroid health and functioning.

According to researchers, SARS-CoV-2 spike protein is causing vascular damage in covid patients and covid “vaccine” recipients, which promotes strokes, heart attacks, migraines, blood clots, and other health damages. Shikimic acid offers antiplatelet-aggregating activity, which means it helps halt blood clots. The active ingredient in fennel seeds is shikimic acid, which makes fennel seeds stand out to fight against spike protein shedding.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, fennel seeds have been long used for relieving digestive issues, such as indigestion, heartburn, flatulence and bloating, even irritable bowel syndromes (IBS). This herb soothes and repairs the digestive tract and reduces gad formation. When you suffer from digestive issues, you can drink fennel tea or add fennel seeds to your soups and dishes. Fennel seed is also rich in dietary fiber that helps reduce constipation.

Fennel seed also promotes weight loss by boosting the metabolism and breaking down fats. It helps relieve water retention because it is a diuretic. The dietary fiber in the fennel seeds promotes satiety and reduces hunger, which also helps weight management.

Fennel seeds contain emmenagogue chemicals that promote menstrual flow. The phytoestrogens in fennel seeds can help relieve maturation-related issues for women, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and menopausal symptoms. Fennel seeds have been traditionally used to promote lactation in mothers and reduce menstruation-related cramps.

Here are some amazing health benefits of fennel seeds.

  • Rich in powerful anti-inflammatory antioxidants such as chlorogenic acid, limonene, and quercetin.
  • Relieves digestive issues including indigestion and heartburn.
  • Reduces appetite and promotes weight loss.
  • Helps regular blood pressure and purify the blood.
  • Reduces asthma symptoms.
  • Helps regulate menstruation and relieve menstruation-related cramps.
  • Reduces acne on the face.
  • Prevents cancers and boosts immunity.

If you suffer from insomnia, you can place a small plate of fennel seeds or a small bag of seeds beside your pillow, the fragrant smell from the fennel seeds can promote a sound sleep better than the sleeping pills over the counter.

How to incorporate fennel seeds in your cuisine?

You can add fennel seeds to your soups, stews or casseroles, and salads. Use the seeds when making bread or biscuits. You can also use ground fennel seeds to make a tea: place 1 tsp. of ground fennel seeds in a cup, pour boiling water on top, and leave for 10 minutes. Strain, and add 1 tsp. of honey and enjoy it. Fennel leaves can also be used similarly. The Magical Healing Power of Your Ears

Did you notice that our ear is like an inverted fetus? From the image, you can see that the earlobe matches the head of a fetus; therefore, this part of the ear is closely linked to our face and head based on reflexology.

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the energy of kidneys opens to the ears, and the kidneys are the power center of our longevity. Have you ever noticed those people who have a very long lifespan usually have long and big ears? This is not a coincidence. The amazing thing about the ear is that unusual changes in your ears can raise an alarm about a specific part of your body, here are a few examples.

Sore throat:

If the bottom of your earlobe is red and swelling, it is an indication that you may suffer from a sore throat.

Unlock the Secret Healing Power of Turpentine Oil

Have you heard about Turpentine oil? It is made from the resin of certain pine trees. It has a long history in healing and arts. In ancient Greece, Hippocrates, people used turpentine oil to treat lung diseases and gallstones. Turpentine is also a flammable substance and a solvent that has been used for thinning oil-based paints in the past. In the last century, the industry replaced natural turpentine with the cheaper chemically produced mineral turpentine. It is very different chemically. Mineral turpentine, also called white spirit, mineral spirits, or petroleum spirits, is a petroleum-derived clear liquid used in painting. Mineral turpentine is a hazardous substance.

Natural turpentine comes from the pine tree and is made up primarily of two volatile terpenes: alpha-(around 65%) and beta-(around 25%) pinenes. Terpenes are largely found in essential oils of many types of medicinal plants and flowers. They give the unique smell of aromatic plants, such as clove, anise, oregano, eucalyptus, rosemary, mint, and citrus fruits. There are about 140 known terpenes found in cannabis. Terpenes play an important role by protecting plants from bacteria and fungus, insects, and other environmental stresses. Thus, they provide strong anti-microbial properties. α-pinenes fight against pathogenic bacteria and all kinds of fungi, they are also inhibitors in breast cancer. β-pinenes also show antifungal properties, especially on candida species, they also have an antiseptic effect on oral bacterial flora. Both are effective to eliminate candida.

Terpenes play an important role by providing the plant with natural protection from bacteria and fungus, insects, and other environmental stresses. Hence, their strong anti-microbial properties. They also possess anti-inflammatory and anesthetic properties. They can easily cross the blood-brain barrier because they are small molecules, they are also easily absorbed into the bloodstream through the nose and the intestinal tract. Terpenes are also antioxidants and function as a relaxant on the smooth muscles of the intestines.

Here are some amazing health benefits of turpentine oil.

  • Fights against fungus, candida, and parasites.
  • Helps treat bladder infections and UTIs.
  • Treats cold and flu including sore throat, cough, and sinus issues.
  • Relieves chronic pain such as arthritis and gout.
  • Provides antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties.

Internal usage of turpentine oil helps dissolve gallstones, reduces bleeding from hemorrhoids, expels intestinal worms, and relieves muscle cramps and pains. External benefits include reducing pain, such as joint pain, muscle pain, nerve pain, and toothaches, and providing antiseptic properties to a wound.

  • Here are some ways to use turpentine oil for health benefits:
  • Sore Throat – Swab the back of the throat with turpentine oil.
  • Sinuses – Mix 5 drops of turpentine with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Drop several drops into each nostril to deliver turpentine to the nasal passages to relieve congestion and infection.
  • Cough – Use the same mixture as for sinuses and massage into the back and/or chest to relieve a cough or take 1-3 drops of turpentine on a sugar cube and take it internally instead.
  • Inhalation – For cold viruses simply inhale the vapors of turpentine. This delivers the turpentine vapors into the lungs, throat, and nasal passages.
  • UTI - Add 1/4 teaspoon turpentine to a spoonful of raw honey and take once.

However, the overdose of turpentine oil can be dangerous, side effects of overdose include headache, insomnia, bleeding in the lungs, vomiting, kidney damage, etc.

Red-Belted Polypore - A Little Treasure In the Forest

Have you heard about Red-belted polypores (fomitopsis pinicola)? They are a type of polypore that grows in the forests in the Northern Hemisphere. They are perennial and extremely durable, they grow additional tubes every year. These mushrooms are often found on dead or dying Hemlock and Douglas fir trees, and they look like shelves rather than umbrellas, their caps are fairly flat with the pores on the underside of the mushroom. Fomitopsis Pinicola is also called Fomes Pinicola by some mycologists. The shape of red belted polypore is half-circle shelving bodies and flat to bulbous, semicircular, or fan-shaped; the surface is smooth but becomes wrinkled with age. The size is about 5-40 cm in diameter, and 0.5-10 cm thick. It has white to creamy flesh; multi-colored with black, or gray-brown on the surface, rimmed with a rust-red color. Even though this mushroom is named after the red belt around its edge, it doesn't always have that red belt.

Although they are not the only mushrooms that grow on trees, once you have identified a mushroom as a red-belted polypore, it is safe to ingest. There is one polypore that is poisonous, which is hapalopilus nidulans, you can identify it by its orange color and fleshier texture. Hapalopilus grows mostly east of the Rockies, though it can sometimes be found in the Southwest and Pacific Northwest. Always show respect when you want to harvest the mushroom from the tree, the incredible spirit of the mushroom will infuse into its medicinal benefits more potently when you show respect and appreciation to it. To remove the mushroom, grasp with a firm hand, and yank to dislodge the polypore from its host.  If it is growing out of a log on the ground, you can apply pressure easily to the top and knock it with your hands or a boot to remove it. Red-belted polypores have been used in homeopathy and native medicine for many years. They possess amazing healing powers, including anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, immuno-modulating, anti-pathogenic, anti-histamine, anti-diabetic. They are also adaptogenic and help boost immunity and detoxify the liver. Red-belted polypores contain a high level of germanium, which is an anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, anti-mutagenic, and oxygen catalyst, it enhances oxygen supply to the body cells and boosts energy production. They also help regulate blood sugar by normalizing and regulating insulin production due to the hypoglycemic glycans in red-belted polypores. They also contain natural steroids that can relieve arthritis and painful auto-immune and inflammatory diseases.

Here are some amazing benefits of red-belted polypores

·        Relieve rheumatoid arthritis.

·        Reduce inflammation in the digestive tract and relieve Crohn's disease, gastric ulcer, and chronic diarrhea.

·        Improve diabetes by regulating blood sugar.

·        Prevent cancers and inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

·        Contain a very high concentration of phenolic with powerful anti-oxidant properties.

·        Remove toxins in the liver and intestines.

·        Boost immune function by increasing neutrophil count and other white blood cells.

Two simple recipes of red-belted polypore help you enjoy this amazing medicinal fungus.

Fomitopsis Pinicola Dual Extract

Chop dried mushroom and mix with water with a 1:20 ratio (dried mushroom to water) in a pot. Simmer until liquid is reduced by half. Let it cool down and pour the mixture into a sanitized jar. Add 30% organic alcohol (95%). Shake the jar daily and let it macerate for 3 weeks. Strain the mushroom out and here is your dual extract.

Red-belted Polypore Tea

Ingredients:  1/2 cups of fresh red-belted polypores (finely chopped) and 4 cups of water. Place chopped polypore in a large pot and cover with the water. Bring the water to a boil and simmer with low heat for 20-30 minutes. Strain through a mesh strainer and enjoy the drink, you can add honey to it to enhance the flavor, place the rest in the fridge and it can last for a few days. It is a good idea to take a small amount of mushrooms (or mushroom extractions) at first, and only try one type of your picked mushroom at a time. Wait for 24 hours before consuming additional mushrooms or mushroom products. Mushroom poisoning and/or allergic reactions can occur. It is recommended not to eat any mushroom that you are not sure whether it is poisoning or not.

Why Should You Make Your Own Apple Pectin?

Fall is a season of abundance and harvest. Today, I am going to talk about apples and how to use apples to boost your health.

First, let’s talk about a few health benefits of apple juice. Alkaline in the apples helps the digestive system cleanse and detox. Apple juice is rich in potassium, which is crucial for heart function. Apple juice contains 88% of living water that our body cells can absorb easily for hydration. Apple juice is one of the best hydrating food for your body.

Now let’s talk about the amazing health benefits of apple pectin. Pectin is a naturally occurring gelatinous substance that is extracted from fruits like berries, apples, and citrus.

  • ·       A prebiotic that promotes good gut bacteria.
  • ·       Improves blood sugar and reduces the risk of diabetes.
  • ·       Promotes weight loss by increasing the length of fullness.
  • ·       Regulates digestive system and relieves both constipation and diarrhea.
  • ·       Helps detoxify the body and removes the toxins inside your body.
  • ·       Promotes bone health with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory compounds.
  • ·       Improves cholesterol profiles and benefits heart health.

How to make homemade apple pectin with an abundant supply from Mother Nature? Apple pectin is pretty simple to make and quite inexpensive. If you have access to local farmers, you can get lots of free under-ripe apples that fall off the trees, they are ideal because they contain higher levels of pectin. The best apples for making apple pectin are the small under-ripe ones that should be stripped off the tree to allow for healthier, larger fruits. This makes homemade pectin a bonus product from apples that would have otherwise been thrown away and wasted.

Method One:

Here are the ingredients for 2 cups of apple pectin, 3 lbs of under-ripe apples, and 3 tbsp. lemon juice.

Instructions: Chop apples into large chunks, including the skins and seeds, and place them in a large pot. Add enough water to just cover the apples, about 8 cups, then add lemon juice. Bring the pot to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until apple chunks are reduced by two-thirds to a half, and apples are very soft. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve. You will get about 4 cups of liquid. Return the liquid to a pot and discard solids. Bring the liquid to a boil for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the bubbles are large, the liquid is syrupy. Pour the liquid throw a cheesecloth into a bowl. Gather the corners of the cheesecloth and tie it into a knot. Hang the cheese knot over the bowl to drip overnight to get the most out of it. The remaining liquid you get is apple pectin.

Method Two:

In a large pot, bring chopped apples and water to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer for 20 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool down. Line a large bowl with a dampened cheesecloth. Pour the pulp and juice through the cheesecloth. Gather the corners of the cheesecloth, and tie it into a knot. Hang the knot over a bowl and allow it to drip into a bowl overnight. The next day, port the apple juice into a large pot. Bring the liquid to a boil and cook with low heat until the liquid is reduced by half. The final product is your homemade apple pectin, you can refrigerate and use it within a few days or pour it into containers and freeze for up to 6 months.

It is tricky to determine the level of pectin you have achieved in your liquid. If you want to use your homemade apple pectin for jam, it’s a good idea to test your liquid. The most commonly used test to determine the strength of pectin in your liquid is to mix 1 tsp. of your pectin liquid that is cooled to room temperature with 1 tbsp. of rubbing alcohol, stir the mixture well, and let it sit for one minute. If the mixture firms up to jelly, you have a good strength of pectin.

When making jams and jellies, homemade pectin is a great alternative to commercial pectin because now you know for sure you are using the best organic ingredients. If you have an apple tree in your backyard, it is truly a treasure tree for your health. What do you think? How To Treat Insomnia With Your Hands and More

Did you know that sound sleep is the best medicine? People who sleep peacefully experience boosted energy and lifted mood the next day, but those who suffer from insomnia are a totally different story, they may feel exhausted and lack motivation the next day. The common theme for insomnia is overthinking, the more you think about it, the harder you can fall asleep. Maybe you are angry about something, or maybe you eat too much at supper and your stomach is constantly sending the messages to the headquarter – your brain for directions, your central nervous system is working hard to send commands to the rest of organs including your liver, your stomach, and your intestine to digest the food while you are in bed, how can you sleep? Here is another scenario, maybe you watched a horror movie in the evening and you feel the ghosts in the movie are hunting you while you are trying to sleep, your adrenaline is surging for a fight-to-fight situation and your central nervous system is fully alert, then how can you sleep?

Based on different types of insomnia, there are some important acupoints you can use to overcome insomnia and improve your sleep quality from the ancient wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Here are a few types of insomnia and how to treat it accordingly.

Insomnia related to overthinking

The heart is where your soul rests, it is associated with fire based on the Five Element Theory in TCM. Overthinking can trigger excessive fire in your heart meridian, which disturbs the mind and makes you feel restless at night.

What Is the Most Important Spot on Your Feet?

Last night, I spent just 2 minutes massaging Yongquan acupoint on both feet, after that, I slept almost nine hours, I was in a rush to get up this morning because I was behind my schedule. This is how powerful this spot is. Yongquan acupoint (KD -1) is one of the most useful points located on the Shaoyin Kidney Meridian of the foot. It is the lowest and most yin part of the body that is in constant contact with the yin energy of Mother Earth. Where is it located? It is on the sole, in depression with a foot in plantar flexion, at the junction of the anterior 1/3 and posterior 2/3 of the line connecting the base of the 2nd and 3rd toes with the heel.

When a person lacks stamina or strength, Yongquan acupoint can help him/her draw the vital force from Mother earth to regain strength.

One of the most important relationships in the body is between the kidneys and heart meridians. The Yin energy in the kidney meridian nourishes and calms the fire energy in the heart meridian, while the heat in the heart meridian warms the water nature of the kidney meridian. Harmony between these two meridians can help achieve a peaceful mind and spirit. Therefore imbalance between the kidney and heart meridians can cause a wide range of emotional stress including anxiety, agitation, and restlessness.

Since the kidney meridian governs our longevity. As the source point in the kidney meridian, Yongquan acupoint can help calm the mind and spirit, it also helps relieve menopause symptoms, including hot flushes, night sweats, anxiety, and headaches. Yongquan acupoint also relieves aging-related issues such as memory loss, ear ringing, and nocturia.

Here are some amazing health benefits of massaging Yongquan acupoint regularly, especially in the evening between 7 pm to 9 pm when the energy in your body is peaking in the kidney meridian.

  • ·       Detoxify the body.
  • ·       Improve sleep quality and treat insomnia.
  • ·       Boost your energy and reduce fatigue.
  • ·       Relieve headache and dizziness.
  • ·       Reduce high blood pressure.
  • ·       Relieve sore throat, dry cough, and strained voice.

There is a simple technique from the ancient wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine to treat canker sores, nose bleeding, toothache, and dry coughs.

Take 2 fresh garlic cloves, remove the peels and chop into a fine texture, take half of the chopped garlic and place it on a small piece of cotton cloth, then attach the garlic on Younquan acupoint on one foot and cover it with a piece of plastic wrap to prevent leaking, in order to prevent garlic from falling out, you have to use a few pieces of medical paper tape to stabilize it. Place another half of the chopped garlic on another foot with the same method, leave it for 20 minutes, then remove the garlic and wash your feet with warm water. You may experience blisters at Yongquan acupoint after this treatment, it will fade away in a few days, but this is a very effective approach with no drugs involved, it is worth the effort to give it a try. You can do it once a day for a few days to fully recover from the health challenges I mentioned above. If you experience blisters, it is a good idea to take a break until your blisters are healed. October Full Moon Predictions - the Beginning of the End of What?

The full moon in October is called harvest full moon or hunter full moon, which brings us fruition and celebration. This full moon occurs on October 20th when the Sun in Libra forms an opposition to the Moon in Aries.

Numerology Impact

October full moon will fall on Oct.20th, number 2 is associated with the balance between self and others, and in service to others, number zero amplifies intuition. This full moon calls upon us to be in service of others and follow our inner moonlight to guide us through this challenging time.

The Theme of October – Justice

At the beginning of October. Mercury in Libra formed a T- square with Aries and Pluto, which set up the tone for this month. We see the power struggle in communication between alternative media and mainstream media. Justice and transformation through initiatives will be the theme for this month. With Mercury retrograde, there may be a delay for the truth to come out especially on the subject of mandatory vaccination. The transformative energy of Pluton also brings deeply hidden secrets to the light. The momentum in September was slow because of lots of planets retrograde. In October, the momentum starts to pick up as planets change directions from retrograde.

Wild Yam - A Wonder Food for Women

Autumn is here, it is a great time to fill your plates with root vegetables including yams and potatoes, wild yam is even better. Wild yams have been in use for thousands of years as natural progesterone for reproductive health issues for women, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms, menopausal symptoms, and natural hormone replacement therapy. They’re often mistaken for sweet potatoes. However, yams are less sweet and starchier. They have a distinct brown, bark-like exterior. The flesh can be white, yellow, purple, or pink depending on the maturity of the yam.

There are more than 600 varieties of wild yam, but only a dozen or so are considered edible. However, their tubers are valuable due to a chemical compound called diosgenin, which is a phytoestrogen that replicates the actions of human hormones. Diosgenin is a precursor to certain steroidal hormones such as progesterone -  an important hormone for boosting female reproductive health. Diosgenin also promotes neuron growth and enhances brain function.

If wild yam is not available in your area. The yam you grow or purchase are also very nutritious. They are not only an excellent source of fiber but also high in potassium and manganese, which are important for supporting bone health, metabolism, and heart function. They also provide decent amounts of other micronutrients, such as copper and vitamin C. Copper is vital for red blood cell production and iron absorption, while vitamin C helps detoxify your liver and boost your immune system. Studies have shown that a yam-rich diet significantly reduced colon tumor growth. The antioxidants in yams may help reduce chronic inflammation in various diseases, such as colon cancer, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and stomach ulcers. Using wild yam cream on the skin is also believed to be an effective anti-inflammatory remedy.

The health benefits of wild yam include the following:

  • Relieves premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms such as cramping and heavy bleeding.
  • A natural hormone replacement.
  • Minimizes menopausal symptoms, such as hot flushes, mood swings, and night sweats.
  • Prevents infertility and miscarriage.
  • Lowers the risk of developing osteoporosis.
  • Reduces the risk of breast cancer and uterine cancer.
  • Help treat gallbladder problems and diverticulosis.
  • Regulates blood sugar and helps stabilize the mood.
  • Prevents vomiting during pregnancy and eases painful labor.
  • Improves digestion and helps regulate cholesterol levels.

There are many ways that you can enjoy this nutritious healing food, such as yam fries, yam chips, yam salads, yam soups, or baked yam with other ingredients. Here are a few examples:

Mashed yam – Vegan sausage with peas and mashed yam is delicious.

Yam roasties – A mixture of yam and sweet potato roasties adds a more interesting flavor.

Yam wedges – chunky yam wedges are delicious with hummus dip.

Yam curry – Chunks of yam and chickpeas make a delicious sweet curry.

Sweet potato soup – Yam chunks with carrots and butternut squash and warming spices such as cinnamon and ginger in a vegetable soup create a healthy soup in cold seasons.

You can bake, roast, and steam them and fully enjoy this amazing food from Mother Nature. I hope you enjoy the information, for more information on holistic health and nutrition, please visit https://optimalhealthsolutions.ca.

How to Use a Comb to Boost Your Health Magically

Do you know that health maintenance can be a simple way instead of a complicated procedure such as sweaty workouts in the gym or filling your cabinet with supplements? Believe it or not, a simple comb can take good care of your health and boost your immunity if it is used the right way with consistency, let’s dive into these comb health methods one by one.

Comb Your Neck

Bowing your head, you will notice a sunk spot beneath the highest budging bone in your vertebrae, it is one of the most important acupuncture points in the Du Meridian according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), it is called “Dazhui” acupoint. Du Meridian is the governor of the Yang energy flow in your body, it is also called the Governing Vessel. Dazhui acupoint is on the midline, below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra (C7). You can use the back of the comb gently massage this spot in a pressing and releasing motion for about 5-10 minutes, and move up and down along your neck like massaging your neck, after a few minutes, you will notice the heat is increasing in this area because the Yang energy in your body is activated. This method of combing your neck helps prevent a cold, relieves lower back pain, and boosts your energy level.

Comb Your Shoulders

Today, many of us are working in front of a computer for a long period, after work, many people spend lots of time in front of the TV to watch their favorite channels, all of these can lead to stiff neck and shoulders. The comb comes in handy to relieve your neck and shoulder pain. You can apply some massage oil around your neck and shoulders first, then use the back of the comb to gently scratch these areas for a few minutes, it may turn red after the treatment, but it will soften the stiffing muscles around your neck and shoulders and relieve neck and shoulder pain. The scraping method is a very ancient therapy in TCM, which is very effective to treat many chronic conditions including pain.
