Goldenrod - A Natural Antibiotic

Let's talk about a weed that is a potent antibiotic.

Goldenrod grows in Europe, Asia, and North and other places of the world. It is often considered a weed. The plant’s yellow flowers bloom in late summer and early fall and there are more than 100 different species of goldenrod. Many of these have similar health benefits. The herb’s Latin name is Solidago, which means “to make whole or heal” and reflects its use in traditional herbal medicine. Goldenrod is a popular ingredient in herbal supplements and teas. It has been used externally for sores, infections, toothache, burns, and wounds. Internally, it is used for urinary infections, respiratory, and digestive issues.

Goldenrod provides many beneficial plant compounds, including saponins and flavonoid antioxidants such as quercetin and kaempferol. Saponins are particularly effective in inhibiting the growth of harmful bacteria and yeast like Candida albicans, which is a fungus that can cause vaginal yeast infections and infections in other parts of the body. The flavonoid antioxidants quercetin and kaempferol in goldenrod help fight against free radicals.

Goldenrod is a premier decongestant, which can relieve upper respiratory issues including allergies, sinusitis, flu, or the common cold. Goldenrod is used by Native American people as a wash or poultice to help heal wounds, burns, open sores, and cuts. Many species of goldenrod have been used to relieve diarrhea due to their tannins and antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory actions. Solidago species are typically bitter, warming, and pungent, which makes them useful carminative herbs for improving digestion. Goldenrod soothes inflamed urinary mucosal membranes through their demulcent, astringent, and anti-inflammatory actions. With its antimicrobial and diuretic properties, it flushes out bacteria by promoting urination.

In TCM, the kidney meridian governs our longevity and aging. Have you ever noticed why our voice changes as we age? Part of the reason is the hormone shifts, but the energy flow in the kidney meridian also plays a role. If you are experiencing sore throat and strained voice, here is a simple technique to get your voice back on track.

Zhaohai (KI-6) Acupoint - Your Voice Saver

Location: On the medial aspect of the foot, in the depression below the tip of the medial malleolus.

Method: place a small green bean on this spot on both feet. Use a paper tape to hold it in place, use your thumb to stimulate the bean for about 2-3 minutes each time. Replace the green bean daily. Massaging the spot a few times a day can:

  • Relieve sore throat and strained voice.
  • Help treat asthma.
  • Nourish the kidney Meridian.
  • Help regulate menstruation.

I am very excited to present "Quantum Leap Manifestation Workshop" on March 1st, the information comes from my many years of learning and practice. This workshop is all about how to channel the energy from the Source and create your desired reality - a new hologram. Our reality is not fixed and it is a hologram based on the location in space-time. When you shift the location, you shift your hologram - your reality. How to shift the location in space-time, let's dive more details from quantum physics about cosmic and human cycles, energy blueprint of our environment from 1 Ching, Fengshui and Vastu, ancient practices of sacred breathwork that synchronizes with sacred geometry and ancient Mudras, how full moon ritual works based on the ancient practice of energy flow, Fengshui, sacred geometry, and synchronicity...and much more. Please check more details

Fish Mint contains essential oils that contribute to its distinctive aroma and flavor, as well as its medicinal properties. These volatile compounds likely contribute to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. Essential oils in Fish Mint include compounds such as terpenes and phenylpropanoids, which are common in aromatic herbs and have been associated with various health benefits, including respiratory support and immune system modulation. The presence of alkaloids in Fish Mint could contribute to its effectiveness in treating infections and inflammatory conditions and potential pain-relieving properties.

Fish Mint has shown promising potential in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, which is a prevalent neurodegenerative disorder characterized by amyloid-beta (Aβ) deposition and neuroinflammation. The aerial parts of Fish Mint, known as Houttuyniae Herba, have been found to protect neurons from Aβ toxicity and regulate cholinergic dysfunction. Fish Mint demonstrates significant antibacterial and antifungal activities, making it a promising natural remedy for fighting against various infections. Essential oils extracted from Fish Mint exhibit potent antimicrobial properties against a wide range of pathogens. The essential oils from both aerial parts and stems of the plant have been found to possess strong antibacterial effects. Houttuynia cordata has been traditionally used for detoxification purposes. Houttuynia cordata has been found to have diuretic effects, which can help flush out toxins through increased urine production. The herb’s anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties further contribute to its detoxifying capacity against harmful substances and pathogens.
