Why Should You make Your Own Toothpaste?

Your mouth contains over 700 different microbes. Every time you swallow, some of those microbes make their way to your stomach and gut. The oral microbiome contains dense communities of microbes called biofilms. According to some research, the bacteria that make up the majority of the microbes in biofilms are also associated with chronic illnesses. When these bacteria in your mouth reach your gut, they can cause an imbalance of the microbiome in your gut and this imbalance can lead to small intestine bacterial overgrowth, a condition called SIBO, which can create weakening of the tight junctions between the endothelial cells lining your gut. This condition is called a ‘leaky gut’, which allows pathogens to enter your bloodstream and the rest of your body. Once this happens, your immune system becomes activated to fight foreign invaders. A hyperactive immune system can dramatically increase inflammation in the body. Many of us are aware of the danger of fluoride, when ingested, fluoride passes both the blood-brain barrier, which is designed to protect the brain and nervous system from the damage of foreign invaders, and can pass through the placenta into the body of an unborn baby. Fluoride can bio-accumulate in the body, which means not all of it is metabolized and/or excreted by the body. About 50 percent of the fluoride you ingest through water or other food sources is excreted by the urine, while the other half tends to accumulate in the calcified areas of the body, such as bones and teeth, and your pineal gland, which is the temple of the wisdom and an important organ for your sleep cycles and anti-aging properties. Dental fluorosis has continued to rise according to CDC statistics. The average American will consume 14 pounds of toothpaste over a lifetime - imagine the impact of harmful chemicals from conventional toothpaste on our health.

If you have been using fluoride-free toothpaste, you may be not aware of artificial flavors, colors, and toxic preservatives in your toothpaste. This is why you should consider making your own toothpaste, they are safe, effective, and cheap. Here are a few DIY homemade toothpaste recipes.

Your toothbrushes also matter. You can opt-in for toothbrushes, such as Miswak stick and boar bristle brush.

Recipe One
Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. of baking soda (Mild abrasive, Red Mill Brand)
  • 1 Tbsp. sea salt, finely ground (Antibacterial, whitening effects)
  • 2-3 drops of peppermint essential oil or thieves based on your preferences
  • A few drops of liquid stevia
  • Coconut oil (The amount is based on the consistency you desire)
  • 1/2 tsp. of dried sage (Optional; sage is antimicrobial)
Instructions
  • Mix all ingredients except the coconut oil to taste.
  • Mix in a teaspoon of coconut oil at a time until you find the right consistency for your paste.
  • Put into a small, sealable glass jar or squeezable container and keep in a cool place.
  • It can last about 3 weeks.

Recipe Two
Ingredients
  • 2 Tbsp. of Virgin coconut oil
  • 2 Tbps. of baking soda (Red Mill Brand)
  • 2 Tbsp. of calcium magnesium powder (Optional)
  • 2 Tbps. of stevia powder (Optional)
  • 2 tsp. of Himalayan sea salt (Optional)
  • 5 -10 drops of essential oil (Such as thieves, peppermint, etc)
  • 5 – 10 drops of trace minerals (Colloidal Silver)

When you brush your teeth with your homemade toothpaste, you should spit it into a garbage bin not in your sink because it can plug the sink in a short period. This toothpaste is a great follow-up to oil pulling. Your health starts from your mouth.

By the way, I will be at the Metaphysical, Psychic and Wellness Fair on May 27th in Parksville. I will be giving a talk on the Connection of Fasica, Nervous System, and Consciousness. Once you understand who you truly are, there is no limit when it comes to healing. Here are some highlights of my presentation.

  • The physical manifestation of the human body as a measuring stick of the universe.
  • How does the consciousness anchor and channel in the body through fascia?
  • How is Sacred Geometry applied in our body as a blueprint and building block of our nervous system and cellular structure?
  • How to apply this ancient wisdom to enhance your health and well-being?

Please check my poster below for more details. Everyone is welcome, I am looking forward to seeing you there.
