As we know spring is the best time to nurture and rejuvenate your liver based on TCM, and I discussed this in my previous newsletter, there are many ways to support your liver health. Let’s talk about essential oils.
Here are some best essential oils for liver detox:
1. Rosemary
2. Turmeric
3. Citrus
oils
4. Clove
5. Grapefruit
6. Helichrysum
7. Geranrum
How to do it?
First, find one of the most important acupoints in
the liver meridian called “Taichong” (LIV-3) on your feet. It is located on the
top of the foot, in the dip where the big toe connects to the second toe. To
find the acupoint, trace your thumb down the top of your foot, and let it rest
in the dip between the big toe and the second toe.
Blend with a carrier oil, apply it to the “Taichong”
acupoint on both feet, and massage the oil into the spot.
Did you know that dandelion is one of the best herbs to help
detoxify your liver and reduce gallstones in your gallbladder?
Dandelions are full of treasure, including flowers,
leaves, stems, and roots. While it is considered
to be a weed-like plant by many, the health benefits of dandelion are more than you might expect. The most
medicinal part is the root. Dandelion greens are delicious in your salads.
Dandelion flowers make excellent healing teas or add them to your salad. The
bitterness in dandelion helps squeeze the liver to purge accumulated toxins out
of the liver. Dandelion flowers help cleanse digestive tracts, lungs, uterus,
and heart. Phytochemicals in dandelion leaves purify the blood and lymphatic
system, which help relieve lymphoma, swollen lymph nodes, and edema. The
dandelion herb also enhances your digestion and relieves stomach discomfort and
acid reflux. some researchers
proposed that dandelion’s anti-hyperglycemic, antioxidative, and
anti-inflammatory properties may help treat type 2 diabetes.
Dandelion root tea is a simple yet effective way for improving
your immune system, stimulating liver function, improving good digestion,
relieve pain, and reduce swelling. You can use
either fresh or dried dandelion roots for tea. Both work just as effectively at
helping with digestion problems and reducing inflammation. Dandelion leaves can be
mixed with other greens as a delicious and nutritious salad on your dinner
table. Dandelions are some of the
most nutritionally dense greens you can eat. They are far more nutritious
than kale or spinach. They are also a good source of Vitamins C, A,
and K. Dandelion greens are rich in potassium, giving them a strong
diuretic quality as well as making them an excellent blood
detoxifier. Dandelion flowers are sweet and crunchy and can
be eaten raw, or breaded and fried.
Now, this nutritious weed is all
over the world blooming, and it is free!
